Can Anchors Fail?

When a Christian says, ‘how could anyone believe otherwise’, it seems they’re most likely criticizing another person’s opinion, as opposed to announcing their intent to intellectually examine the various reasons for a friend’s thoughts.  And when criticism is the real goal, we can fail to recognize how others might perceive us as arrogant, self-righteous, or foolish.
